Deep Fried Fish

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying 
  • 8 (4 ounce) fillets cod
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle Kelchner’s Seafood Boil Marinade and Sauce

Directions

1. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C). Rinse cod fillets, pat dry.

2. In a shallow bowl mix flour and egg and stir well to combine. Gradually mix in enough marinade to make a thin batter.

3. Dip cod fillets into the batter to coat. Carefully lower fillets, one at a time, into the hot oil. Fry several fillets at a time, turning once, until cooked through and golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels. Repeat to cook remaining fillets. Serve warm with Kelchner's Tartar Sauce.

ALTERNATIVE OPTION

1. Marinate cod with Kelchner’s Seafood Boil Marinade and Sauce for 1 hour.

2. In a shallow bowl add your favorite store bought fish batter. Coat marinated cod fillets in dry batter.

3. Carefully lower fillets, one at a time int the hot oil. Fry several fillets at a time, turning once until cooked through and golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels. Repeat to cook remaining fillets. Serve warm with Kelchner's Tartar Sauce.
